The Commodore 64 was a quality machine. It had a very good 64 Kb of RAM, 16 colors at a resolution of 320 x 200 pixels, 8 color sprites, and sound that could rival a dedicated sound synthesizer of its day.
The really impressive thing about the C-64 was that it was so much cheaper than rivals and also they couldn't match the graphics and sound capabilities of it.
