Nintendo GameBoy Color [1998] Rating: 4/5

"For pure, portable fun, no other platform comes close to GameBoy Color -- the latest version of the world's best-selling video game system."
Nintendo.com

Nintendo GameBoy Color coloursThe GameBoy Color was the successor to the standard GameBoy. This was a testament to the original as it lasted roughly 10 years, and its only aesthetic difference was to upgrade the screen to full colour.

It was available in, as Nintendo marketed them as, six 'tasty' colours: Teal, Kiwi, Grape, Berry, Dandelion and Atomic Purple.

Newer versions of the system have been produced powered by 2 AA batteries which last for approximately 10 hours. This GameBoy Color actually had significant improvements to the original GameBoy. It was twice as fast, as well as 'increased realism'.

VERDICT
The GameBoy continued to dominate the handheld console market, and this version consolidated their position.
