Sega Mega Drive / Genesis [1990, 1992, 1998] Rating: 5/5

This was probably the first games console to hit the big time. It was the follow up to other consoles such as the Master System, and was the making of hand-held consoles such as the Game Gear.

The Mega Drive had 16-bit graphics which ran off a CPU at 7.61 MHz and had a capacity of 64 Kb in memory.

The Mega Drive had fierce competition from Nintendo's equivalent, the SNES. Overall it was difficult to say which was better but the Mega Drive did extremely well espeially due to Sega building their console around an excellent and iconic game, Sonic the Hedgehog.

VERDICT
The Mega Drive was a good console and the title lasted for a long time. It did better in Europe than in many other parts of the world, most noteably the US.
