Sega Nomad [1995] Rating: 3/5

Sega never recovered from the poor outcome of the 32X. They released the Nomad (commonly known in US as the Genesis Nomad), a portable colour version of the Mega Drive hoping to revive more interest in the Mega Drive.

It was a fairly good idea because Mega Drive games could be played on it. It's main downfall was its weight and short battery life of just 3-5 hours with 6 AA batteries. Another reason was that many console fans were awaiting the new age of console, the 32-bit range.

VERDICT
Its high price kept it from becoming very popular, but soon the Nomad could be found discounted (mainly in the US). It also did succeed in creating a bit more interest in the Mega Drive.
