Sega Saturn [1995] Rating: 3.5/5

Sega came into the 32-bit age with the Saturn and the twin processors bring a superb 16 million colours and great 3D graphics.

They also introduced the media as a CD ROM rather than cartridges before it. This increased the capacity allowed for a game, which in turn improved game possibilities. You could also play audio CDs because of the use of DSP (Digital Signal Processing).

The Saturn's main rival was Sony's first proper console the PlayStation. Overall it can be said that the Playstation is superior but the Saturn can handle more polygons, and has larger texture memory. The Saturn also supports 2D games as well as 3D giving it more diversity.

VERDICT
Due to processing problems and poor marketing the Saturn didn't find its true potential, where the PlayStation did.
